Flare Gun
ImageA hybrid of a m3 shotgun and a flare gun. Pressing Primary Fire operates the m3 shotgun. Pressing Secondary Fire launches a flare capable of distracting heat seeking missiles. The m3 portion uses specially designed teflon coated rounds that do more damage and have grater range than a standard shotgun. Once the shotgun's teflon ammo has been expended the m3 portion of the shot gun does normal damage for a m3 shotgun.

Range

Flares live for 25 seconds before burning out.

Advantages

If shot from cover works well for allowing movement from cover to cover. Flares should be fired high and toward the enemy to move the missile track away from the player. The m3 portion does more damage and has greater range that a standard m3 shotgun.

Disadvantages

Once a missile has acquired a player lock the flare may not break the lock. If the flare is fired at too low of an angle it can attract missiles to the player.

Slot

Uses slot 1 (primary weapon).
